The faculty consists of 55 Radiologists, 7 Nuclear Medicine physicians and 10 Imaging Scientists providing a subspecialty imaging program to a catchment population of approximately 1.5M people. The Department provides regional diagnostic imaging and interventional programs and has strong relationships with community hospital partners. The Department is undergoing academic transformation and is hiring a new faculty position for a radiologist with expertise in Musculoskeletal Imaging. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to engage in a blended academic practice that spans the academic – community hospital continuum. Position Profile: The successful candidate will be appointed in a full-time limited term Clinical Academic appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in the Department of Medical Imaging at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry. In addition, the successful candidate will provide clinical services for London X-Ray Associates ("LXA") and take an active role in the Citywide Musculoskeletal Imaging Subspecialty Division and must be dedicated to outstanding quality in clinical operations, demonstrate leadership, teaching and research abilities. The successful candidate will have completed a Fellowship in Musculoskeletal Imaging and must have an interest in academic and community radiology. The academic component of this position is predominately located at St. Joseph's Health Care London and the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, with some academic/clinical service also provided at London Health Sciences Centre. The community practice includes several community hospitals and Independent Health Facilities (IHFs) operated by LXA. One day of protected academic time to support research and teaching is provided. The citywide Musculoskeletal Imaging Division provides a full complement of diagnostic and interventional MSK procedures and is comprised of 9 radiologists based at St. Joseph's Health Care London and London Health Sciences Centre. Duties The successful candidate will be expected to: provide a full range of diagnostic services required of a Musculoskeletal Radiologist including X-ray, Ultrasound, CT and MRI; participate in image guided MSK procedures such as diagnostic/therapeutic injections and biopsies; Participate in general radiology on-call. Participate in general radiology in LXA clinics and community hospitals outside London. The successful candidate must be interested in pursuing a strong academic career and will be expected to actively participate in the Department of Medical Imaging's academic, research and education initiatives including teaching and supervision of undergraduate, and postgraduate trainees and fellows. Qualifications The successful candidate must have the following: An MD or equivalent and be eligible for licensure by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. Applicants should be Board certified in Diagnostic Radiology by either the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or in the jurisdiction where they trained (if not in Canada). Successful completion of a Fellowship in Musculoskeletal Imaging prior to starting in the role. Demonstrate strong commitment to patient care, teaching and research, with the ability to provide a full range of diagnostic clinical services required of an MSK Radiologist. Must have interest in academic and community radiology, and previous experience in this environment is a distinct advantage. Consideration of applicants will include an assessment of previous performance and experience, as well as qualifications that surpass the requirements for the position. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, a team player and willing to participate in all aspects of academic MSK imaging.
