REPORTS TO: Corporate Information Security Officer

DIRECT REPORTS: N/A

PURPOSE OF POSITION :

This position oversees the effective design, build, maintenance, and support of all Red River Mutual computing assets, including personal computing, enterprise computing, applications (related to personal / enterprise computing) . This role works extensively with partners on the most challenging IT problems required to support projects and business operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS :

  • A dministering, supporting, maintaining, and troubleshooting server, storage, network, identity and access, and security infrastructure on-premise s and in the cloud .
  • Works with staff and partners to investigate and resolve issues, escalating to vendor experts as required .
  • Works closely with the IT A rchitect in the establishment of new solutions / services, and the automation of services .
  • Communicates effectively with staff and partners to provide IT solutions and services, this includes understanding needs, recommending solutions, providing "how to use" instruction .
  • Support / participate in the development of automation to improve the efficiency of IT .
  • Support IT process improvement and actively participate in technology planning .
  • Provide s guidance and works collaboratively with other System Administrator s to investigate and resolve technical issues .
  • Assist s other System Administrators roles as escalation point for system issues .
  • Aids in deploying management capabilities for various devices and software, including personal c omputers, tablets, mobile phones, printers, Wi-Fi devices, and audiovisual equipment .
  • Provide s assistance to end users as required .

QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS:

  • College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science .
  • 5 + years of experience performing work in medium or e nterprise c omputing environments .
  • 2 + years of experience in a technical role working directly with e nterprise c omputing technologies ( n etwork, s erver, s torage, s ecurity, c loud) .
  • Experience supporting and deploying workloads in Microsoft Cloud platforms ( Azure and Microsoft 365 ) .
  • Experience with Microsoft S erver operating systems .
  • Experience with networking and telecommunications.
  • Experience working in an ITIL-driven environment and working knowledge of ITIL principles and processes.
  • Highly self-motivated with a p roven ability to conduct detailed research into a wide range of computing issues is required .
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with an end user experience focus .
  • Strong documentation skills and attention to detail .
  • Direct Microsoft SQL Server experience considered an asset.
  • Linux experience considered an asset.
