Reporting to the program Manager, the Unit Clerk provides clerical, receptionist and communication functions for designated unit(s)/program(s), in accordance with policies, procedures and standards of Hotel Dieu Grace Healthcare. The Unit Clerk complies with Occupational Health and Safety Standards for the hospital and is proactive in promoting a safe work environment.

Qualifications:

Keyboarding skills – preferred
Computer literacy and knowledge of Windows based applications – preferred;
Excellent interpersonal communication skills – required;
Graduate of an approved clerical health care program – preferred;
Previous clerical experience – preferred;
Ability to communicate in French – preferred;
Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment
General good health and a level of fitness appropriate for the demands of the position.

Education and/or Certification:

Grade 12 education or equivalent – required
Medical Terminology – required (will be tested)
