JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Lands & Estates/Housing Administrator, theLand Surveyor Traineewill work in collaboration with the current team and will be responsible for assisting in all areas of land surveying.

The Land Surveyor Trainee will be responsible for conducting topographical land surveys of the designated sites for the purposes of determining accurate locations, elevations, areas, lines and contours for property division, titles, and construction purposes using precision surveying equipment.

The Land Surveyor Trainee will assist in the performance of accurate measurements of properties to be surveyed; assist with all research regarding maps, previous surveys deeds, and any other records necessary prior to conducting surveys. This position may assist with the environmental assessment and reporting process.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum one (1) year experience in a similar capacity,preferred.
  • Proficient computer skill in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Trained or willing to train in the AutoCAD Software Program,an asset.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Knowledge of survey equipment, maintenance procedures,an asset.
  • Valid Class "G" driver's license and use of company vehicle is required.

REQUIREMENTS PRIOR TO STARTING EMPLOYMENT:

  • The successful candidate must submit a recent (completed within a 30-day timeframe) CPIC,at their own expense.
  • The successful candidate must submit a copy of valid Class "G" driver's license and recent (completed within a 30-day timeframe) driver abstract,at their own expense.
  • The successful candidate must submit a copy of applicable educational qualifications (certificates, diplomas, degrees, etc.).
