What can you expect in this role? General file handling and practice management for Accident Benefit, EUO, Priority, Loss Transfer and some Civil Litigation matters Review documents and prepare summaries Prepare and compile documents/briefs as assigned Prepare, serve and file LAT Forms and briefs inclusive of LAT Applications / Responses, Case Conference forms, Affidavit of Documents and other documents as assigned Draft correspondence to clients, third parties, experts Request and manage productions and undertakings and corresponding with legal counsel Support file work by identifying, obtaining, and organizing documents from the clients and from other parties to the litigation All aspects of arranging Independent Examinations including retaining experts and preparing briefs for experts Hearing / Arbitration Preparation Provide input into the procedures and practices Work within a paperless environment ensuring electronic filing is up to date Perform other duties as required of a Law Clerk What do you bring to the role? Minimum 2 years of experience as a Law Clerk as part of a team practicing Accident Benefits in Ontario Knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure Have an excellent understanding of Accident Benefits (including SABs, LAT forms and procedure, and the Dispute Resolution Practice Code) Strong document management skills with the ability to learn Definity's various software programs Demonstrated proficiency with Outlook and all MS Office applications Ability to prioritize, organize and execute tasks in a quality manner with strong turnaround time Excellent document management skills with ability to utilize the various software systems such as TeamConnect and ACL Priority and Loss Transfer Experience an asset High degree of personal ethics, integrity and responsibility with an ability to deal with sensitive issues and safeguard privileged and confidential information Great attention to detail with proof reading skills Ability to perform under pressure, meet deadlines and handle multiple, yet sometimes conflicting priorities High degree of personal ethics, integrity and responsibility with an ability to deal with sensitive issues and safeguard privileged and confidential information Team player, adaptable to a changing environment #J-18808-Ljbffr
