Would you like to launch your career with one of the most successful logistics organizations worldwide? Here at Kuehne+Nagel, our Mississauga site is looking for a new Sea Logistics Operational Care Specialist to join our Customs Broker Handover team.

Your Role

As the operational care specialist, your goal is to ensure all documents are accurately and efficiently drafted/sent to our customs or 3rd party customs broker in order to clear goods as per customer request. You will also troubleshoot with terminals, Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), Sea Shipping Lines (SSL) and 3rd party brokers in case there are any customs clearance or documentation issues. You will report to the Broker Handover Supervisor.

Your Responsibilities
  • Handover documents to broker in time
  • Work with carriers/Non-Vessel Operating Common Carriers (NVOCC) to obtain proper shipment info
  • Work with overseas office to retain the correct information
  • E-manifest filing for all of Canada shipment (US and Canada International Maritime Organizations)
  • Identify and resolve all e-Manifest related document issues (via 3rd party platform Descartes)
  • Trouble shoot in case of any documentation or custom clearance issues by supporting the operations team and dealing with terminal, CBSA, SSL and 3rd party broker
  • Backup for Broker handover automation (setup Business Profile properly to meet automation requirement)

Your Skills and Experiences
  • Bachelor's Degree in international business, supply chain management or a related field is preferred
  • 1+ year's experience in the Freight forwarding, logistics, transportation industry experience is preferred
  • Advanced computer skills, including full proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required
  • Understanding of freight forwarding / logistics industry
  • A strong desire to learn and grow in your career
