THE ROLE

We are seeking a Senior Integration Engineer, with a proven track-record of building integration solutions across enterprise applications and data sources.

Reporting directly to the Director, Technology Enablement , the individual will partner with key technology partners to provide consultation and expertise to drive, execute and operationalize solutions across the organization. You will be extremely motivated, hands-on, subscribe to a continuous learning mindset, and apply leading practices and technologies to your work. You will bring in-depth experience in cloud engineering, system and data integration, automation, and cybersecurity. You also possess deep experience in medium-to-large enterprise-level complex technology environment(s).

UPP is based in Toronto's downtown and has a hybrid work model (~2 days / week in office).

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

The Integration engineer will be responsible for a variety of duties, including but not limited to the following:

  • Standardization, automation, and operationalization of data and system integrations across our environment leveraging our integration platform Informatica Intelligent Cloud Service (IICS).
  • Building data connections and reusable pipelines in Informatica across a variety of connection types (SFTP, API, FlatFile, ODBC/JDBC/OLEDB).
  • Developing data mappings, validation, data cleansing, data masking, transformation, and pre-processing rules adherent to data platform best practices (Medallion architecture).
  • Provide advisory services for integration requests and managing the intake/delivery of data connectivity and ingestion requirements to the UPP Data Engineering team.
  • Evaluate integration requirements and develop Proof of Concepts.
  • Managing data architecture within GCP services including Google Cloud Store, BigQuery, CloudSQL, etc.
  • Effectively communicating technical decision-making processes and solution designs to various audiences.
  • Applying SDLC principles (Design/Documentation, Build, Testing) including environment management (Dev/UAT/Prod) with transparency for all changes.
  • Active maintenance of up-to-date documentation on integration patterns and processes.
  • Own & operate critical back-end Informatica platform services such as agents, networking, security, policies, common utilities, etc.
  • Implement tools and design processes that help improve monitoring and system resiliency. Monitoring integration pipelines for failures.
  • Automate integration artifacts to source code management system and deployment to different environments with either a CI & CD tool or programmatic scripting.
  • Actively monitor and address any issues related to the integration platform and integration tasks.
  • Design service-level objectives and report on corresponding service-level health indicators.
  • Guiding peers across technology and business on platform development in Informatica best practices
  • Research and understand industry trends and their applicability to support operational efficiencies for the enterprise.
  • Contribute to UPP's reputation as a respectful employer, partner, and participant in the financial sector.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Diploma, undergraduate or graduate degree in Engineering, IT Management or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as an Integration Engineer or Data Engineer in a production environment.
  • 3+ years of experience with Informatica, MuleSoft, Talend, Boomi, Kafka, RabbitMQ or equivalent integration platforms.
  • 3+ years of ETL or integration orchestration experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in working with cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and their data services – (Azure Storage (Blob), Azure Data Lake, AWS S3, GCP Cloud Storage).
  • Ability to articulate integration and data architecture designs to technical leadership.
  • Experience with creating and testing Disaster Recovery and High Availability integration strategies.
