Job Description

The Conveyance Market Sector in AECOM involves all planning, design and delivery of water and wastewater linear infrastructure including the sub sectors of Asset Management, Condition Assessment / Rehabilitation, Infrastructure Planning & Modelling, and Major Water Transfer & Tunnelling. We are seeking an individual to lead AECOM's business development activities within the Conveyance Market Sector for the Americas (US East, US West and Canada). Primary duties include:

Acts as a key linkage with AECOM's Client Account Managers, Global Sector leaders and Regional business teams

Understands the competitor landscape and growth opportunities

Acts as an ambassador for AECOM in the external market

Develops the strategy for how we go to market in conveyance, including the clients, services and markets we focus on, to sustain and grow business with current clients and develop new opportunities

Recommends the service delivery model, resources and investments to support growth

Known to key clients Regionally within their sector.

Has in depth market and technical knowledge, which is relevant to clients.

Demonstrates external presence by being an 'influencer' and public speaking on behalf of AECOM.

Active participant in industry groups, representing AECOM.

Internal presence

Known, to Global business lines and Regional teams, as the key point of contact for clients and opportunities across specific market sectors.

Regularly interacts with Client Account Managers, AECOM's global business line and Regional leadership teams.

Demonstrates the ability to influence leadership within the Region to ensure sector growth opportunities are prioritized.

Is business line agnostic, thinks and acts globally and able to bring together business lines to support client needs.

Client Relationships

Has relationships with major organizations in their market sector.

May be AECOM's relationship lead for one or more of our most important accounts.

Known as a key differentiator on client pursuits.

Growth

Understands long term industry trends and future opportunities.

Develops and gets buy-in to the strategy for how we go to market.

Liaises with Client Account Managers and Regional teams to identify growth opportunities.

Coordinates and oversees business development activities within a market sector and may lead specific pursuits.

Closely oversees the capture of important new business opportunities and the renewal/extension of existing large-scale agreements within the sector.

Demonstrates exemplary leadership attributes that provide role modelling for others.

Champion for ethical and safe working practices.

Integrates AECOM and client values to positively impact AECOM's wider reputation.

Works with Global Business Lines, Client Account Managers and Technical practice groups to identify new business opportunities and develop solutions to address them.

Understands the range AECOM solutions and actively promotes these within the market sector.

Advocates client adoption of key AECOM initiatives such as ESG and digitalization.

Identifies long-term and disruptive trends in their area of expertise.

Acts as a conduit to position AECOM's innovative solutions with clients.

Partners with key clients to deliver their innovation agenda.

Delivery focus

Supports key project delivery teams with the Region, in partnership with Client Account Managers, to deliver high quality, successful projects meeting client and AECOM expectations.

Understands AECOM's technical capabilities and able to challenge whether proposed solutions meet client needs.

Identifies areas of high risk and pro-actively takes actions to positively impact outcomes.

Commercial

Manage consistent approaches to working with clients.

Demonstrates strong commercial acumen.

Able to collaborate across multiple Regions and business lines to reach consensus on commercial terms, balancing client and AECOM priorities.

Development of people/ mentoring

Identifies skill gaps and workforce planning to deliver capabilities for the future, relevant to their market sector.

Ensures major project teams are client-focused and that our clients get the best AECOM experience every time.

Mentors other team members in building strong relationships with clients and across the organization.

Actively supports the attraction and retention of business development talent.

Supports the growth and success of AECOM by providing employees with opportunities to develop, such as cross-border/business line experiences.

Display appropriate leadership behaviors

History of delivering results and leading teams to do the same.

Encourages diverse and inclusive teams leveraging AECOM's global talent footprint to enable individual growth and collective success established through trust, autonomy, accountability and alignment.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS of Engineering, or other related technical bachelor's degree with 12+ years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 4+ years in leadership role

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional registration is preferred but not required.

Additional Information

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $161,706.97 - $291,072.54.
