Job Summary

The Training Specialist (Distribution) is a member of the operations team within the Distribution Center and is responsible for conducting and delivering training to front line / floor employees at the Distribution Centers. The training specialist support both new hire training program, employee competency-based training program along with related distribution center training identified necessary training. This position reports to the Senior Director, Operations within McKesson Canada's Pharmaceutical Distributions and Operations unit. Primarily, the role of the Training Specialist is to act as a subject matter expert (SME) for delivery of hard and soft skills training by demonstrating up-to-date expertise in adult learning theory, training best practices, and various delivery methods in order to achieve and maintain compliance.

Section A – Specific Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Deliver and conduct - mainly in person but potentially virtual - training session for material related to key operational processes such as but not limited to picking, packing, shipping, replenishing, receiving. Re-training of employees related to SOPs / Wis updates, modified processes, new regulatory/compliance requirements and/or associated to Corrective/Preventive actions.

Support and / or deliver training where applicable related to onboarding & new hire programs, Health and Safety along with software applications used in operations.

Health and safety: coordinating training on best business practices/awareness

Prepare and support Supervisors and DO with the creation of targeted training for specific needs.

Proactively partner with the Operational Excellence team and the Quality team to seek solutions and enhancements to training courses and content. Assist in the development of content; use of various learning technology tools to deliver the training where applicable.

Evaluate the effectiveness of current training programs, act as department training support and make improvements as necessary.

Maintain the employee training records in the Learning management systems (LMS). Be able to navigate and support employees with the completion of their training tasks in the electronic Quality Management System

Monitor the training of new supervisors for all SOP, apprenticeship, etc. trainings

Train other trainers and be the point of contact of other trainers within the Distribution Centers should there be.

Create, plan and coordinate the implementation of training calendar for the Distribution center•Generate training status report (status) and communicate the status to the Director of Operation along to the affected areas. Prepare and distribute reports and presentation as necessary.

Improve, track and maintain metrics and training related Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in collaboration with Quality.

Establish a high-energy, engaging environment conducive for learning that creates diverse opportunities for participants to connect with learning content w here new content are delivered, ensure smooth transition from material to new competency-based training program.

Report to Supervisor any deficiencies noted in the exams or during the training

Train the employees through On-The-Job (OJT) training and document outcome of the training.

Prepare and set up learning environment/room for training delivery. Where applicable, contact IT to ensure appropriate equipment is available and functional.

Participate, when required, in the creation and revision of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Working Instructions (Wis)

Collaborate and support diverse operational committee in order to identify priorities in training and standardization of practices within distribution centers but across the business.

Monitoring the training of new supervisors for all SOP, apprenticeship, etc. trainings

Other training responsibilities as defined by leadership and the organization.

Section B – General Responsibilities

Participate in the creation and revision of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Working Instructions (WIs).

Participate in the preparation for Health Canada and Corporate inspections along with creation of corrective action and preventive action plan for training.

Ensure training compliance.•Support or lead special projects and assignments as needed.

Section C – Position Key Requirements Education

College diploma in related field, or equivalent experience.

Demonstrated 4+ years of previous experience with distribution center operations and training of both hard skills (computer applications, processes, procedures) and soft skills (customer service, leadership skills). Ability to deliver compelling classroom or virtual training content.

Specialized Knowledge/Skills:

Utilize classroom training, demonstrations, and on the job training to properly execute job functions

Expert with understanding Standard Operating Procedures for assigned work area(s) and function(s)

Good knowledge of computer systems

Prioritization and planning skills, with demonstrated success producing high-quality deliverables on time and within budget

Be detail-oriented, flexible, and can work in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines and shifting priorities

Proven success at establishing rapport with business partners at multiple levels, working on larger teams, and collaborative work habits

Ability to conduct engaging and interactive training using a variety of modalities and methods including virtual

Advanced Microsoft Office application skills

Working knowledge of Learning Management Systems

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including proofreading/editing

Bilingual (French and English) would be considered an asset.

Excellent organizational and time management skills with ability to manage several projects at once

Meticulous and detail oriented

Excellent interpersonal and written & oral communication skills

Proactive and strong team player

Ability to work independently and make decisions based on judgment and integrity
