Duties and Responsibilities:
Pick up passengers at pre-determined locations
Report to work on time and operate route in a safe manner
Conduct pre-trip inspections daily, using Company tools and swipe technology
Practice defensive driving at all times, and proactively avoid accidents by practicing safe driving and work habits
Lift and close bus doors daily, and assist passengers who are boarding and exiting the bus
Evacuate bus in emergency situations and physically assist passengers to evacuate
Refill fuel and washer fluid in assigned vehicle when necessary, before picking up passengers
Manage student behavior by exercising communication and discipline as per Company policies, and report student discipline issues to the school and to the Company immediately
Report all accidents, incidents, and major or minor defects, to office immediately
Complete all required paperwork, including route change sheets, time cards, vehicle repair requests, in a timely manner
Deliver vehicle to office for repairs, preventative maintenance inspections, and repairs
Contact parents of passengers if instructed to by the Company
Attend all Company Safety Meetings
Adhere to Company standards in the operation of Company vehicles and customer service
Follow all Company policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook, as well as local Customer Service Center work directions and instructions
Perform other tasks as assigned by the Company

What you bring to the bus:

Cheerful and positive demeanor, with a "can-do" approach
At least two years driving experience with a current driver's abstract
Clear criminal background check
Your willingness to make a difference in a child's day every day

Requirements:

Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must possess, or be able to obtain, a valid provincial Class 5 Driver's License or Higher.
Must have a clean Drivers Abstract, clear Criminal Background check and Vulnerable Sector Screening Test.

Qualifications

Exercise a high degree of attention and dexterity in the operation of the school bus
Keep the school bus neat, clean, and sweep the interior of school bus on a daily basis
