Bureau Veritas is looking for a Microbiologist to join our environmental laboratory in Ste-Foy, QC. Your main responsibilities are:

1. Perform complex sample preparation and analysis
2. Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure accuracy and quality of work
3. Ensure that quality control criteria are met for all reported data
4. Approve data generated (validation level 1) for which analysts have been trained and validated
5. If required, validate Level II data
6. Generate reports with results and fax them to the clients
7. Understand and diagnose analyses
8. Contribute to corrective action procedures
9. Ensure deadlines are met
10. Recommend SOP revisions
11. Ensure equipment is properly maintained
12. Use summaries to plan and organize work
13. Follow all laboratory safety rules and regulations
14. Contribute to daily and weekly planning
15. Provide support for performance supervision
16. Coordinate laboratory projects
17. Validate and implement new methods
18. Write SOPs
19. Follow up on contamination and interference in the laboratory
20. Question results
21. Other related tasks

You are an ideal candidate if you:

• Have a BAC in microbiology and a minimum of 2 years of experience in a related analytical field
• Are able to work independently or as part of a team
• Are attentive to detail
• Are dynamic, energetic, motivated and have a positive attitude
