Purpose : This role is primarily responsible for the storage and movement of materials and finished goods to all camp locations and projects as well as logistics and procurement.
Role Classification : Contractor – Full time May to end of September

This role is responsible for :

  • Coordinating, tracking, troubleshooting and managing the logistics process from order fulfillment, transportation, and delivery to sites and offices, ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Developing transport schedules, methods, and routes, coordinating customs clearances and permits, Maintaining, loading, packing, and driving vehicles,
  • Placing purchase orders for materials and consumables with local vendors for shipment to our work sites.
  • Coordinating crew change overland transport for employees and contractors.
  • Evaluating, selecting, and managing ongoing relationships with external transport providers (e.g., fuel suppliers, trucking / shipping companies, etc.)
  • Maintaining inventory control of equipment parts, materials, and general supplies, and maintain current inventory catalogues and descriptions
  • May co-ordinate the disposal of surplus or obsolete materials
  • Ensuring all occupational health and safety measures are followed during movement of personnel, materials and goods from source to destination.
  • Maintains liaison with users, buyers and suppliers, and may participate in tender evaluation and vendor selection
  • Any additional tasks as requested by your supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Incumbent has several years of related experience and at least a college diploma in Supply Chain and/or Logistics or equivalent.
  • Have knowledge and familiarization working in Northwest British Columbia supply chain and the ability to understand technical specifications of material and equipment.
  • The candidate must have the availability and willingness to travel to remote camp sites when necessary and be legally eligible to work in Canada. Experience working in remote locations, with radio communications, and cross-border freight import/export procedures is preferred.
  • Knowledge of helicopter logistics, and transportation specifications are preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in building trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders including the local community, indigenous groups, employees, colleagues, and service providers/contractors.
  • Maintain high standards of professional and ethical conduct.
  • Analytical, and capable of evaluating and solving problems.
  • Self-motivated attitude with the ability to multitask and thrive in a timeline-driven environment.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in logistics and warehousing is required
  • Experience in Projects and mining are an asset
  • Demonstrated ability of above requirements
