We're looking for a Junior Specialist for the Cybersecurity Operations team to join us. Reporting to the Principal within the Joint Security Operations Centre team, the Junior Specialist plays an important role in protecting the organization by managing the various tools used by parallel cybersecurity teams.What's it like working as a Junior Specialist for the Cybersecurity Operations team at Questrade?The Junior Specialist role is within the CISO department, and is responsible for assisting his team in the administration and management of the various cybersecurity tools used by the wider Joint Security Operations Centre team, such as Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR), Vulnerability Scanning, Attack Surface Management, and more. Day to day activities include overseeing system upgrades and expanding capabilities, monitoring system health and troubleshooting system issues, ensuring asset coverage, and managing user access for these tools. You will be working alongside internal customers and our vendor support teams to ensure we are utilizing our security tools in accordance with corporate policies and growing business needs, as well as providing metrics on the management of these systems and tickets addressed. You will work closely with Cybersecurity and IT teams to align priorities and execute plans for new initiatives, as well as contribute to process improvements and build documentation for new tools.Manage and administer tools used by other cybersecurity teams related to endpoint protection, vulnerability scanning, etcReview enterprise security tools and controls to review system health, identify misconfigurations, and implement tuning recommendations per vendor best practicesMaintain existing or create new procedures and processes for administering and managing cybersecurity tools under the purview of the teamWork closely with the various CISO teams (Incident Response, Threat Vulnerability Management, Cyber Threat Intelligence) and IT teams (Desktop Services, Infrastructure Operations) on operational activities and quarterly initiativesReport on all applicable compliance related obligationsSo are YOU our next Junior Specialist for the Cybersecurity Operations team? 1+ years Cybersecurity experience in a similar role, with knowledge of technical infrastructure, networks, databases and systemsDesire to further grow your cybersecurity skills across different tools and contribute to further development of team knowledge and areas of responsibilityProven ability to engage with technical and compliance teams and provide them with great customer serviceStrong written communication and technical writing skills, including experience creating documentation sets for procedures and workflowsExperience analyzing different data sets and preparing metrics and reports (e.g. Excel, Sheets, PowerBI)Hands on technical expertise in the following types of tools: EDR, infrastructure vulnerability scanning, cloud based scanning, external attack surface management, network scanning, incident response, SIEM, access managementSecurity certifications such as CompTIA Security+Vendor certifications on cybersecurity tools or cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)At Questrade Financial Group of Companies, with multiple office locations around the world, we are committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive and accessible work environment.
