Job Overview

The Senior Accountant primary responsibility is the financial management of corporate entities through reporting, forecasting, analysis and risk mitigation.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and monitor budgets and financial forecasts, providing insights into variances and recommending adjustments as needed.
  • Cost Analysis: Monitor manufacturing costs, analyze cost drivers, and identify opportunities for cost optimization and efficiency improvements.
  • Financial Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, tax laws, and internal financial policies.
  • Financial Controls: Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risks.
  • Financial Strategy: Support developing and implementing financial strategies to drive profitability and growth in manufacturing operations.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis and provide decision support by evaluating investment proposals, capital expenditure projects, and pricing strategies.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee inventory accounting and valuation, implementing best practices to minimize carrying costs while ensuring adequate stock levels.
  • Year end Financial Statements Support: Coordinate and facilitate year end financial with external auditors, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Ad Hoc Analysis: Perform ad hoc financial analysis and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Working with the Bank and Insurance.
  • Have good knowledge of payroll and able to work with the service provider.
  • Coordinate with the accounting department and make sure that Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Job Costing and allocation is completed on time.
  • Have a good knowledge of Inventory management and WIP valuation.
  • Proficient with Accounting software suites.
  • Oversee payroll processing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions.
  • Provide guidance and support to the finance team, including training and development opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; CPA certification or in progress is considered an asset
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive finance and accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing/construction environment.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial software.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of integrity and ethical conduct.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Analytical skills. Accurately evaluating detailed information.
  • Detail oriented. Attention to evaluating and interpret details.
  • Technical skills. Working knowledge of the industry processes, materials, and costs.
  • Time-management skills. Plan work in advance and work efficiently and accurately.
  • Experience with Sage 100 Contractor is an asset.
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to changing timelines.
  • A high degree of professionalism.
  • Experience with project management platforms (Monday.com, Asana, ect.) is considered an asset.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $83,000.00-$88,000.00 per year
