Position Summary
A recruiter is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) who is passionate about making a difference and is skilled at financial strategy, management, and organizational leadership. The CFO will play a critical role in shaping our financial future while also overseeing the legal and procurement departments. This position reports directly to the CEO and is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Serve as a key member of the executive team to develop and implement strategies across the organization. Align financial strategy with long-term business goals. Oversee the strategic direction of the legal and procurement departments.
- Financial Planning: Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling to support decision-making processes. Provide strategic recommendations to enhance financial performance and business opportunities.
- Risk Management: Identify and manage business risks and ensure compliance with financial and legal regulations. Develop and oversee comprehensive risk management policies.
- Operational Control: Oversee the accounting, investor relations, legal, procurement, and tax functions. Ensure accurate reporting and data integrity. Implement and maintain high standards of financial and operational control across different regions.
- Capital Structure Management: Manage the company's financial structure, including debts, investments, and equity financing, while exploring new avenues for growth and sustainability.
- Stakeholder Relations: Maintain strong relationships with investors, banks, legal counsel, suppliers, and external partners. Represent the company with investment bankers and investors.
- Team Leadership and Development: Lead the finance, legal, and procurement teams, set comprehensive goals for performance, and enhance their professional development through mentoring and coaching.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. An MBA or CPA is highly preferred.
- Experience in startup environments, particularly with Series B or later stage companies
- Must be passionately aligned with the mission of Boundless Life, enthusiastic about the product, and driven to help families live globally.
- At least 10 years of experience in a senior financial managerial position, with extensive experience overseeing legal or procurement functions.
- Proven expertise in financial planning, risk management, legal oversight, procurement strategies, dealing with complexity, and strategic thinking.
- Excellent leadership skills and experience in managing teams across geographically dispersed locations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with proficiency in English. Additional languages are a plus.
- Ability to adapt to new challenges and cities as the company explores new destinations.
Location
- This is a remote position giving priority to candidates with the most overlap with European timezones.
