Christian Heritage School is seeking a dedicated Resource Teacher to join our team for the 2024/2025 school year, commencing September 3rd, 2024. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs, collaborating with classroom teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure the academic success and holistic development of all students.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with diverse learning needs, in accordance with Manitoba curriculum standards and best practices in special education.

- Provide direct instruction and support to students in small group and one-on-one settings, targeting areas of academic, social, and emotional growth.

- Collaborate with classroom teachers to modify and adapt curriculum materials and instructional strategies to meet the needs of students with diverse learning profiles.

- Conduct ongoing assessment and progress monitoring to track student growth and adjust instruction accordingly.

- Serve as a resource and consultant to classroom teachers and support staff, providing strategies and accommodations to promote inclusive practices and support the diverse needs of all learners.

- Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers to provide updates on student progress and collaborate on strategies for support.

- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in special education and support the implementation of inclusive practices school-wide.

Qualifications:

- Manitoba Teaching Certificate with a specialization in Special Education or Resource is required.

- Master's degree in Special Education or a related field is preferred.

- Strong understanding of special education principles, practices, and legislation.

- Experience working with students with diverse learning needs, including those with learning disabilities, developmental delays, and behavioral challenges.

- Knowledge of assessment tools and strategies for identifying and addressing student needs.

- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

- Commitment to upholding the Christian ethos of the school and supporting the spiritual development of all students.
