Our client, a real estate investment trust requires a Senior Manager, HR to join their team. Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, the Senior Manager, Human Resources will work with leaders and their teams directly to define and implement people strategies that are aligned with business plans. They will provide business partnering support to the Leasing & Operations and Development & Construction teams. The Senior Manager will lead a team that will be accountable to develop and implement leading practice across the organization related to leadership development, Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI) and Culture.

Responsibilities:

  • As a strategic and experienced HR Professional, use sound judgment supported by human resource acumen and practical experience to lead the development and implementation of strategic initiatives for the organization.
  • Develop a team of well-rounded HR Professionals, providing regular coaching and guidance.
  • Work collaboratively with their Senior Manager counterpart to support the delivery and deployment of HR and cross-functional programs and processes within the Leasing & Operations and Development & Construction client group by fostering and maintaining strong internal relationships with key business leaders and stakeholders.
  • Align HR strategic objectives with the business strategies to add value to the organization, leading through issues which are complex and arise from broad internal or external issues.
  • Work collaboratively with the recruitment function in developing proactive strategies to attract key talent, as well as retain and develop high potential and high performing colleagues, ensuring the right people are in the right job for succession planning, current and future business needs.
  • Play a leadership role to recognize barriers to success and facilitate proactive solutions that support a performance driven culture with a focus on talent management, coaching and mentoring clients on talent reviews, performance management, succession and building a talent pipeline for high potential colleagues.
  • Lead the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and Culture COE to deliver inclusive people programs and implement best practices, including setting the DEI and Culture strategy for the organization and working with the broader HR team and executive leaders to implement.
  • Design, develop and implement leadership development programs that are aligned to people and business strategies, including developing the strategy, project managing programs end-to-end, including project and communication plan creation, execution, stakeholder engagement as well as identifying and measuring success against KPIs.
  • Operate as a key enabler to the business as it drives engagement and culture by counseling, guiding, facilitating, and allowing the business to own colleague engagement and the sustainment of culture.
  • Provide people focused change management support to the business to ensure colleague readiness and engagement.
  • Ensure that the interests of colleagues and company are considered in accordance with HR policies and applicable government laws and regulations – i.e.: ESA, Human Rights Code
  • Serve as a coach and confidante to leaders around people and organizational issues, leadership development, and act as an advocate for colleagues.

Qualifications:

  • Human resources experience related to HR business partnering and leadership development and / or Diversity, Equity & Inclusion and Culture programs.
  • Post-secondary education in business, HR or related discipline, preferably with a CHRL designation, or the equivalent progressive HR experience with demonstrated knowledge in all areas of human resources.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and coaching a team of more junior HR Professionals.
  • Comfort presenting complex business issues to leaders and executives in a clear and compelling manner and an excellent facilitator of action plans.
  • A detail oriented, collaborative, proactive and results oriented style with demonstrated success in leading and working on projects and project teams as a team player.
  • Proven influencing, judgment, decision making and cooperative problem-solving skills.
  • Strong integrity with ability to maintain confidentiality and manage highly sensitive information.
  • Strong analytic skills and superior ability to problem-solve complex issues.
  • Exceptional commitment to customer service with strong sense of urgency.
  • Models our values and Culture principles and is authentic, builds trust and makes connections.
  • Highly motivated, self-starter, requiring little direction.
