To participate as part of a working team that performs, and may direct assigned workers engaged in planting, cultivating and transplanting trees, shrubs and ornamental and flowering plants.

MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Grade 12, G.E.D. , or Mature High School Diploma;
• Manitoba Arborist or ISA certification;
• Must be proficient in Mechanical Aptitude and Problem solving;
• Hold and maintain a valid Class 5 with Air Province of Manitoba Drivers License.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of two (2) years? experience in grounds maintenance including tree trimming and planting, machinery operation, and facility maintenance;
• Pesticide Applicators License including Mosquito Abatement and Golf Course/Landscape (must be obtained within one year of appointment).

NOTE: The qualifications are not intended to limit the opportunities for interested candidates but provide the candidates with an understanding of the level of expertise required in this position.

The selection process for this competition will include testing and an interview.

Rate of Pay:

$25.38 - 29.29 per hour - 2023 rates.

Position Conditions:

This permanent, full-time position (40.00 hours per week) will be offered in accordance with conditions identified in the Collective Agreement between the City of Brandon and CUPE Local 69.
