Mission
We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer / Manager, Conveyance interested in joining our growing conveyance team. Working with other members of our team, you will champion the delivery of high-quality projects that meet or exceed client expectations and delivering planned profits. You will also be a strong safety proponent/leader for our safety policies and our culture of caring. You will be based out of our Kitchener office, working in a hybrid model with 1-2 days/week being in the office and collaborating with your peers.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Project Delivery for Planning Studies, as well as preliminary and detailed design for municipal linear water and wastewater servicing projects.
2. Preliminary and detailed design of Site Works in support of our Water Team's development of Water and Wastewater Facilities.
3. Managing, planning, organizing work with technical groups in the delivery of project deliverable requirements including scope, fee, schedule, quality, health and safety, risk management, and change management plans.
4. Provide assistance to our Field Services team to provide guidance and direction through the construction phases.
5. Developing, mentoring, and empowering the project team, including junior engineers and technical support staff.
6. Tracking, controlling, and reporting on project performance.
7. Timely invoicing and cash collection.
8. Maintaining regular and effective communication with clients.
9. Providing support to business development and strategic initiatives, including preparation of proposals.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an accredited post-secondary institute
2. Holder of P.Eng. designation in Ontario, or eligible to obtain it
3. Minimum 10 years of experience in the engineering design of water and wastewater conveyance facilities
4. Demonstrated success and expertise in water and wastewater conveyance project planning and design, including knowledge of water and wastewater hydraulics
5. Experience in working in a multi-disciplinary project team environment in preparing conceptual and detailed design drawings, specifications and reports; contract documents; and approvals applications
6. Strong technical writing skills demonstrated through experience in writing reports and proposals
7. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
8. Works well under pressure in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment
9. Highly meticulous nature, strong attention to detail
10. Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
11. Job task planning and organizing
12. Proficient MS Office user including MS Project.
13. Experience mentoring junior staff is considered an asset
14. OPWA, OWWA, WEAO or similar organization involvement is considered an asset
