Forklift Operator Full-Time Multiple Shifts Available $20.60/hour
About:
Cardinal Couriers is looking for motivated individuals to join our team. This position is responsible for driving counterbalance forklift, shipping, receiving, Loading, and unloading orders into the trucks. This is a physically demanding, fast-paced environment that requires lifting, lowering, and carrying packages.
Roles/responsibilities of the ideal hire:
• Strict Adherence to PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) - Safety Vest, Safety Shoes 6" Inch Ankle High minimum and CSA Approved (Steel or Composite Toe)
• Pre-trip Forklift inspection at start of each shift and hand in inspection sheet end of shift to supervisor
• Organize and secure materials, such as boxes, bales, pallets, and super stacks in a safe way.
• Good understanding of loading a trailer as per weight distribution
• Pick orders from inventory using a pick sheet, Monitor and maintain inventory.
• Shrink wrap pallets to prepare them for shipping.
• Weigh products and/or loads and record weight.
• Move hazardous materials.
• Report any faulty equipment, damage to racks, or other potential safety hazards.
• Attending certification refresher courses.
• Use basic math skills.
• Maintain a clean work area.
• Perform quality checks.
• Adhere to uniform requirements.
• Be alert of other employees in the work zone
• Report quality variances to the proper channels.
• Use radio frequency equipment as needed for picking, put-away, receiving, and load functions.
Who you are:
• You have 2 years of experience of driving Counterbalance forklift in a warehouse environment.
• Comfortable operating a counterbalance forklift using forward and reverse steering.
• Experience with staging, loading, and unloading trailers.
• You are a team player with a professional attitude & have positive relations with customers and colleagues.
• You are described as dedicated, hardworking, and very detail oriented.
• You can load/unload packages weighing up to 50 lbs.
• You have good communication skills, multi-tasking skills and can meet deadlines.
• Keep an organized and clean environment.
• You own a pair of safety boots.
• You are flexible regarding start/end times (if needed).
