Description :
Shared Health (1502-155 Carlton Street, Winnipeg MB R3C 5R9), Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA) and The University of Manitoba, Department of Surgery (business addresses noted below), are inviting applications for a full-time Orthopedic Surgeon (hip and knee adult reconstruction arthroplasty) to fill our labour shortage in Manitoba. Main job duties include diagnose and treatment of diseases, prescribing medications and treatment, bring patients for surgery, ordering lab tests and x-rays and other diagnostic procedures, consulting with other physicians as required, and medical research, which job duties encompass 80% of the position.
The successful candidate would also be eligible for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, and appointed as a geographical full-time member of the Max Rady College of Medicine, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Manitoba, which job duties encompasses 20% of the position. Job duties are required in English.

Qualifications :
The successful candidate must hold a Doctor of Medicine Degree with specialization in Orthopedic surgery. The successful candidate must be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba. Further fellowship training in hip and knee arthoplasty is required. Must be comfortable with community-level musculoskeletal trauma management.

Compensation :
Compensation is a minimum income agreement of $326,400.00/annually based on fee-for-service income.
