About the Opportunity

IMT Precision has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Controls System Specialist, based in Ingersoll, Ontario.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in collaborating with Maintenance, Engineering, and Production teams to diagnose equipment issues and develop optimized controls to enhance operational efficiency.

In this position, you will be primarily responsible for acting as the functional coordinator to the controls technicians, aligning with the priorities and direction of the department and company.

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Developing safe PLC programs in accordance with OSHA and CSA standards for automated systems
Working under pressure and to tight deadlines
Prioritizing work to effectively support the company
Sharing knowledge, training, and developing other support functions to Control Technicians, maintenance staff, and engineers
Leading a team of controls technicians
Setting standards for programming logic on PLC and robotics systems
Maintaining latest files on backup system

More About You

To qualify, you will need 3+ years of experience of progressive related experience in machine controls design, robotic controls, automation, and programming or a closely related role, with a degree/diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Control Systems, or Robotics and Automation.

Registration with the Controlled Goods Program is mandatory for any person examining, possessing or transferring controlled goods in Canada. To register with the Controlled Goods Program, you must have citizenship or permanent residency.

IMT employees must meet Canadian Controlled Goods Program security requirements; therefore, it is required for you to undergo a Criminal Records Check.

The following skills and experience will be strong attributes:

Comprehensive knowledge of Manufacturing Production systems and troubleshooting techniques
Thorough familiarity with OSHA, CSA, ANSI, and RIA safety standards
Proficiency in writing and modifying PLC programs
Experience with safety circuit configurations
Demonstrated leadership abilities
Strong computer literacy, adept in various software and systems
Capability to multitask effectively and handle work interruptions
