About the Opportunity

IMT Precision has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Defence Quality Engineering Technologist, based in Ingersoll, Ontario.

Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting and directing all departments in the area of quality assurance and process documentation.

In this position, you will be primarily responsible for developing and maintaining process documentation in cooperation with manufacturing engineering and initiating actions to prevent the occurrence of product, process, or quality system non-conformance.

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Providing job training and coaching
Verifying effectiveness of corrective actions implemented
Participating in the APQP process
Addressing quality issues including gauge design and testing requirements
Coordinating and participating in gauge and part evaluations
Performing process capability and performance studies
Monitoring system performance and initiating corrective action as required
Participating in cross-functional team activities and MRB meetings

More About You

To qualify, you will need 3-5+ years of experience in the Defence Industry or a related field, with a Post-Secondary Education or Quality Assurance Certification (CQE/QCA), or equivalent experience.

Registration with the Controlled Goods Program is mandatory for any person examining, possessing or transferring controlled goods in Canada. To register with the Controlled Goods Program, you must have citizenship or permanent residency.

IMT employees must meet Canadian Controlled Goods Program security requirements; therefore, it is required for you to undergo a Criminal Records Check.

The following skills and experience will be strong attributes:

Understanding of ISO-9001 standards
Proficiency in FAI requirements
Capability to develop and maintain PFMEAs and SPC, including Capability Studies
Skill in reading blueprints and interpreting GD&T
Experience with problem-solving techniques such as 8D and 5WHY
Familiarity with inspection equipment and general calibration procedures
Ability to interpret and adhere to customer specifications
Knowledge in gauge selection and functionality
Leadership to effectively direct resources
Expertise in conducting internal product, process, and systems audits
Strong computer literacy including use Outlook, Word, and Excel
