This role is responsible for providing a variety of engineering analysis, technical reports, and overall engineering support to internal and external stakeholders for the full duration of the project life cycles. Specifically, this role collaborates closely with a variety of teams to ensure project design, structural integrity and calculations are met or exceeded and in the appropriate time frame for project completion.

Essential Functions

Complete structural reviews of all curtain wall framing members, anchor and embed connections in shop drawings.
Work closely with project teams and clients to develop design solutions at various stages of a project.
Prepare project calculation packages for embeds, anchors, glass, ACM panels, vertical and horizontal framing members in accordance with local building codes and project specific specifications.
Calculate project wind, snow and earthquake loads using ASCE/NBC.
Assist field teams with structural connections and fixes that do not match the shop drawings.
Carry out field inspections and do walk throughs to ensure all connections and framing are adequate to construction shop drawings.
Assist Pre-Construction and Estimating with engineering reviews of architectural drawings and specifications prior to bidding.
Uphold all company policies, procedures, and best practices.

Qualifications

College or University Degree in Civil, Mechanical or Environmental Engineering. Strong knowledge of Structural Engineering would be considered an asset. One to three years experience in a similar role is preferred. Intermediate computer skills with working knowledge of Bluebeam, C-Beam, MathCAD, Shape Builder, SAP2000, S-Frame and embedment software. Prior project management/estimating experience in the façade industry is considered an asset.
