Job Description

We are looking for a technically strong, professional, proactive Junior Mechanical Engineer to join

our growing team. The successful candidate will be a strong communicator who is a team player and

is a good problem solver. Travel to a local client site several days a week may be required as part of

this role. All other work can be performed from home or from one of our regional Canadian offices.

Responsibilities

Supports engineering design of mechanical equipment, material handling and piping as part

of a multi-disciplinary team.

Follows direction of lead Mechanical engineer on projects to support delivery on schedule

and budget.

Review and apply relevant codes and standards to engineering applications.

Supports equipment procurement by producing purchasing documentation, soliciting

quotations, and evaluating vendor bids.

Liaise effectively across engineering disciplines and designers.

Understands and implements all relevant systems, standards, practices, and procedures

required by the contract.

Maintains health, safety and environmental focus to ensure that these elements are

embedded in the design and procurement processes.

Qualifications

Registered as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) in Canadian jurisdiction - Required.

Experience: 0-5 years of relevant Engineering experience in a heavy industrial setting (Oil &

Gas, mining, pulp and paper or biofuels an asset).

Ability to travel to the local job sites as required.

Ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with team members, proficient in oral and

written communication.

Proactive with a high degree of initiative.

Highly organized, with the ability to handle multiple tasks.

Excellent grasp of engineering principles and experience assessing complex systems.

Ability to work in both a design office and operating plant environments.

Bilingual language skills an asset - English/French
