The Grand River Regional Cancer Center is currently recruiting for a part-time time Alternate Payment Plan (APP) funded Malignant Hematology position.

GRRCC provides a full service of comprehensive cancer treatments to over 700,000 residents in the Waterloo Region, Wellington County and the surrounding area, including complex hematology.

This is a clinical position and responsibilities will include care of complex malignant hematology patients including acute leukemia patients as well as some general malignant hematology. Duties include attending in outpatient clinics, inpatient care, regional support and participation in on-call coverage. The successful applicant will demonstrate passion, initiative, and a collaborative and flexible approach in the workplace. We are a group of 5 full-time and 2 part-time hematologists.

Opportunities for teaching with the Satellite McMaster University Faculty of Health Sciences are available and encouraged, with medical students, residents and fellows regularly rotating through the program. There is close collaboration with Juravinski Cancer Center in Hamilton, and we are partnered with Princess Margaret Hospital.

Certification in Hematology or Medical Oncology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and eligibility for independent licensure in the Province of Ontario are required. The successful applicant must maintain privileges at Grand River Hospital and other associated hospitals in the region as required.

The Kitchener/Waterloo area has excellent recreational facilities and world-renowned universities and is close to Toronto, Hamilton and London.

This position is a part-time position (0.5 FTE) with the expectation that it will evolve to a full time FTE position in the next 3 - 5 years.
