The Hawkesbury and District General Hospital (HGH) invites applications for the position of Chief of Surgery, an opportunity to lead and collaborate within a vibrant team of surgeons.

Are you a dedicated medical professional seeking an impactful leadership role in a thriving community hospital? As Chief of Surgery, you will oversee the divisions of General Surgery, Otolaryngology, and Urology, a total of 11 physicians.

About HGH

HGH is a family and patient-centred bilingual regional hospital. We provide essential services to the residents of Prescott-Russell and the surrounding region. As the majority of the population we serve is francophone, fluency in both French and English is a requirement.

Our team of over 200 physicians and 800 employees is committed to delivering exceptional healthcare services and relies on teamwork, innovation, and leadership.

In 2022, we completed a major redevelopment project that transformed our local community hospital into a full-service regional hospital thanks to a $200 million investment in infrastructure, medical equipment and cutting-edge technology.

HGH is a proud member of The Atlas Alliance, which has enabled us to adopt the Epic Health Information System and its electronic medical record (EMR), resulting in increased efficiency and patient safety. As a member of The Atlas Alliance, we maintain educational and working partnerships with The Ottawa Hospital and the Ottawa Heart Institute.

HGH is located in the town of Hawkesbury, Ontario, on the Ottawa River, providing the perfect work/life balance with beautiful scenery and all necessary amenities. If you are seeking a rural hospital that is easily commutable from the city, Hawkesbury is only an hour's drive from both Montreal and Ottawa.

The Chief of Surgery role offers a .1 FTE for administrative responsibilities, with flexible options for part-time or full-time clinical shifts. Clinical billings encompass a combination of HOCC and fee-for-service structures.

Commencing June 2024, this position welcomes candidates to immerse themselves at HGH immediately to acclimate to our hospital, team dynamics, and patient community.
