Title: Financial Analyst - Farms

Reports to: Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Director of Finance

Based at: Mucci International Marketing Inc., Kingsville, ON

Dated Revised: March 25, 2024

Type of Employment: Full-Time, permanent, 5-days a week; and some additional hours which may include Saturdays, depending on workload, priorities and travel requirements.

Primary Job Function: Reporting to both the Director of Finance and CFO, the Financial Analyst will focus on the Operational analysis and Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) for the Farms. The Financial Analyst will work integrally with those departments to drive strategic initiatives and recommend actions to drive cost-saving measures to increase profitability and operational performance.

Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Analyze financial and non-financial data to compare actual to budgeted results.
Develop, with Finance and Operational Senior Management input, operational KPI's and metrics within the Company's existing Business Intelligence ("BI") tools.
Provide weekly analysis to the Finance and Farms teams on the performance of the various greenhouse divisions.
Ensure short-term and long-term production forecasting from the Farms is accurate and the information is relayed to Global Sourcing
Work with VP of Sales to compile crop and acreage change analysis reports to assist executives in making an informed business decision (i.e. Changing which crop to plant or changing crop acreage due to external circumstances)
Complete bi-weekly farm P&L reports that compare budget vs actuals for production, revenue, and costs to circulate to Farm Production Manager, Grower, & CFO
Meet with Farm Production Manager on a biweekly basis to discuss farm operations and gain commentary on key variances on P&L reports.
Meet with Farm Production Manager to discuss cost saving initiatives across the 'Big 4' (Labour, Hydro, Greenhouse Fuel, Water) and create baseline averages
Work with Farm Production Manager on an annual basis to compile annual farm financial budget.
Create accurate labour and production projections as well as accurate COP forecasting over the future twelve months
Any other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Minimum of 3-5 years of professional working experience in a similar capacity
CPA, CA; CPA, CMA or MBA with a keen interest in corporate finance and financial reporting
Bachelor's degree in Finance and/or Accounting
Independent self-starter. Comfortable taking on a project and managing it to completion.
Minimum of 2 years of experience with public or private company reporting. Knowledge of ASPE and ICFR is considered an asset.
Ability to work in a fast-paced growing professional environment.
Comfortable presenting in front of Executive Management.
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and strong written and verbal communication skills
Works well in a team; self-starter who can take a task and run with it.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite. Knowledge of Famous ERP would be considered an asset.

Physical Abilities:

Must be able to sit, stand, and/or walk for extended periods of time.
Must be able to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with body, arms, and/or legs.
Must be able to lift material regularly up to 14 kg / 30 lbs; and occasionally up to 23 kg / 50lbs
Able to climb stairs and stand on feet for an extended period of time.
Work in a temperature-controlled environment of approximately 13 C / 55 F.
