Position Details

Job Title: Food Service Supervisor
Employment Type: Full-time, permanent, non-seasonal
Wage: $39.00 per hour
Hours: 40 hours per week
Overtime: Paid in accordance with the British Columbia Employment Standards Act
Vacation: 4% vacation pay
Language of Work: English
Work Setting: Donair shop/fast-food restaurant
Work Arrangement: On-site; remote work is not available
Expected Start Date: As soon as possible

Job Duties

Plan, assign, supervise and direct work of food service staff.
Supervise daily food service operations and staff to meet service standards and sales targets.
Advise management of purchasing requirements with a focus on minimizing waste and avoiding product shortages.
Ensure that staff follow approved recipes and established portioning, presentation and production standards to maintain consistent food quality and proper serving temperatures.
Establish work schedules based on anticipated sales, customer volume and operational requirements
Train employees in their job duties, food preparation procedures, sanitation, workplace safety and customer-service standards.
Maintain records relating to inventory, sales, food wastage, equipment maintenance and staff schedules.
Monitor stock levels and ensure that food, supplies and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
Address customer concerns and resolve service-related complaints.
Ensure compliance with food-safety, sanitation and occupational health and safety requirements.
Assist with food preparation and service during busy periods when required.

Employment Requirements

Completion of secondary school is required.
A minimum of 2 years of experience in food preparation or food service is required.
Ability to supervise and train employees effectively.
Strong organizational, communication and customer-service skills.
Must be available to work varying shifts.
