Our challenge:
We are seeking a highly skilled Mobile Automation Engineer to develop and execute automated test solutions for mobile applications on iOS and Android platforms. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with mobile automation frameworks, strong programming capabilities, and a deep understanding of quality assurance practices to ensure the delivery of robust, high-quality mobile software.
Additional Information
The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Montreal, Quebec is CAD $80k - CAD $85k/year & benefits (see below).
The Role
Responsibilities:
- Must be able to analyze user requirements and translate them into comprehensive automated test scripts for mobile applications (iOS and Android).
- Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks utilizing tools such as Appium, Espresso, XCUITest, or similar.
- Execute automated test scripts, perform manual testing when necessary, and communicate results clearly to team members.
- Collaborate with developers, QA, UAT, Product Analysts, and other stakeholders to define test strategies, acceptance criteria, and scope.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps) to enable continuous testing processes.
- Evaluate test coverage across functional, regression, performance, and usability testing, ensuring comprehensive validation.
- Document test plans, test cases, results, logs, and defect reports in a clear and traceable manner.
- Stay updated with emerging tools, frameworks, and best practices in mobile test automation.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives for quality processes and tools within the team.
Requirements:
You are:
- Must have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in designing and executing mobile test automation scripts for iOS and Android platforms.
- Working knowledge of automation tools/frameworks such as Appium, Espresso, XCUITest, and Selenium.
- Proficiency in programming languages including Java, Kotlin, Swift, JavaScript, or Python.
- Familiarity with mobile build systems and emulators/simulators.
- Experience in deploying automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
- Extensive knowledge of QA methodologies, SDLC, and Agile development practices.
- Highly self-motivated, with strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and adapt to rapidly changing priorities.
- Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills, essential for cross-functional teams.
- Located in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
