About the Role
We are hiring a motivated and skilled Baker on behalf of our client, a busy bakery in Vancouver. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and baking a variety of baked goods, ensuring product quality, maintaining food safety standards, and supporting daily bakery operations.
Key Responsibilities
Baking & Production
- Prepare doughs, batters, and other ingredients according to recipes.
- Bake bread, pastries, cakes, and other products to high-quality standards.
- Decorate and finish baked goods as needed.
Quality & Safety
- Ensure all products meet quality and consistency standards.
- Follow proper food safety, hygiene, and sanitation protocols.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
Inventory & Supplies
- Monitor inventory and ingredient levels.
- Report supply needs and assist in ordering ingredients.
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with other kitchen and bakery staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Assist in training new team members on bakery processes and safety standards.
Administrative Tasks
- Keep records of daily production and waste.
- Track baked goods inventory and report on production efficiency.
Work Schedule
- 8-hour shifts (day, evening, and morning)
- Monday to Friday, with weekend availability required
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 6 months of baking experience (for candidates inside Canada)
- Minimum 3 years of baking experience (for candidates outside Canada)
- English proficiency (minimum CLB 6)
- Knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
