About the Role

We are hiring a motivated and skilled Cook on behalf of our client, a busy food service establishment in Vancouver. The ideal candidate will prepare and cook a variety of menu items, maintain high food quality and safety standards, and support smooth kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities

Food Preparation & Cooking

• Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and standards.
• Ensure all food is cooked to proper temperature, quality, and presentation standards.
• Assist with daily prep work, including chopping, marinating, and portioning ingredients.

Quality & Safety

• Follow all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation protocols.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace.
• Monitor food storage and expiration dates to minimize waste.

Team Collaboration

• Work closely with kitchen staff and supervisors to ensure timely service.
• Assist with training new kitchen team members as needed.

Operational Support

• Manage inventory and report supply needs.
• Follow opening and closing kitchen procedures.
• Adhere to all company policies and health regulations.

Work Schedule

• 8-hour shifts (day, evening, and morning)
• Monday to Friday, with weekend availability required

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 6 months of cooking experience (for candidates inside Canada)
• Minimum 3 years of cooking experience (for candidates outside Canada)
• English proficiency (minimum CLB 6)
• Knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen equipment
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
