Canada After School Group is a fast-growing year-round learning centre for kids in JK through to Grade 12. It offers a variety of subjects including English, Math, French, Art, etc.

Note: This is an onsite position and all teachers are required to teach in-person class on our North York campus.

The Role:

Preference will be given to instructors who can work a minimum of 3 to 5 days per week during our after-school (Monday to Friday 4pm - 8pm) and weekend centre hours (Saturdays and Sundays 9am-6pm) . Instructors must be available to teach in-person from our centre location .

We need a creative Art Teacher to inspire, instruct and guide our students. Our school has a unique approach that encourages creativity as well as fosters individual expression. We are looking for someone who can foster a collaborative environment, and is comfortable working with a variety of different teaching styles and techniques. The successful Art Teacher will have a background in fine art, but we'll also consider candidates with academic experience for the position.

Responsibilities:

Make lesson plans.
Teach students.
Create art projects.
Help students understand art history; help students develop visual and critical thinking skills.

Minimum Qualifications:
The successful candidate must meet one of the following criteria:
1. Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university AND two (2) years of Fine art experience; OR
2. Associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university AND six (4) years of Art experience; OR
3. A combination of education and experience that is at least the equivalent of items 1 or 2 above (Applicants applying on the basis of equivalency must complete all Equivalency questions on their application in addition to all other required materials).
