Stuart Olson is currently seeking an Insulator, Ticketed Journeyperson or Uncertified Journeyperson with a valid Asbestos Certificate, and experience working at heights for our client site in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta.

Responsibilities
Reporting to the Superintendent, the Journeyperson Insulator will be responsible for:

Read and interpret drawings and specifications to determine insulation requirements.
Select the amount and type of insulation to be installed as well as a method of securing the insulation according to the type and shape of the surface, whether, or not the equipment is cold or hot, inside or outside, and what the equipment is going to be used for.
Operate Manlifts
Measure and cut insulation material and coverings to the required shape and dimensions.
Fit insulation around obstructions or shape insulation materials and protective coverings.
Install vapor barriers and finish insulated surfaces by applying metal cladding, plastic or cement.
Report all incidents, "near miss" incidents including damages/non-damage, injury/non-injury incidents.
Review and participate in the preparation of safe work practices/procedures as required.
Must have asbestos certification.
Other tasks and labor duties as required on the job site.

Qualifications

AIT ID or Journeyperson Ticket or Proof of Hours for non-ticketed Journeyperson
Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean Driver's Abstract
Elevated Work Platform (ESC)
CSTS 20
Fall Protection (ESC)
H2S Alive (ESC)
Asbestos Certificate
Positive attitude to safety
Ability to work collaboratively with a positive attitude
Superior written and verbal communication skills
Pre-Access Drug and Alcohol testing

Working Conditions

Working both indoors and outdoors in hot and cold weather conditions
Working at heights
Working in and around noise and dust
Must be clean shaven
Personal safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, etc.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, crouch, and kneel for long periods of time
Ability to lift up to 25kg
Climbing stairs/ladders regularly
Exposure to hazards such as heights, power tools, slips, falls, falling objects, and sharp hand tools
