Job Summary

The Advisor, Compensation is responsible for playing an important role in the development and management of compensation programs through participation in compensation projects and annual review processes. The role supports the compensation group in conducting extensive market analysis to research trends and compensation initiatives across the industry that guide Human Resources (HR) Business Partners to arrive at accurate strategic and compensation decisions.

Main Responsibilities

Compensation Analysis and Reporting

Perform various compensation related analysis to support the Experts, Compensation

Provide support to the Experts, Compensation on compensation recommendations for external hires and appointments, international and cross-border cases, systemic issues and complex cases

Help address and respond to escalated inquiries and requests from People Services

Provide direct support in compensation reporting and disclosures

Collaborate with the Experts, Compensation on other ad-hoc compensation requests

Job Evaluation and Structure and Pay Equity Compliance

Participate in the job evaluation process

Support maintenance of the grade structure system and the job evaluation process

Provide direct support for pay equity compliance, including data analysis, coordination, participation in committees, and reporting

Compensation Benchmarks, Surveys, and Annual Salary Review

Support the Experts, Compensation in the general and market specific compensation surveys

Support the Experts, Compensation in annual benchmarking and compression reviews

Provide support in the annual compensation budget preparations and in the year-end compensation cycle

Provide support in management of various compensation programs and projects

Working Conditions

The role has standard working conditions in a flexible remote and office environment with a regular workweek from Monday to Friday. Due to the nature of the role, the incumbent must be able to meet tight deadlines. The role requires minimal travel ( 5%) within Canada and the United States.

Requirements

Experience

HR and Compensation Management

2-5 years of experience working in compensation, HR or another related field

Experience with or willingness to learn HR information systems (HRIS) for managing and analyzing compensation data

Education/Certification/Designation

Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field

Certified Human Resources Professional (CPHR)

Certified Compensation Professional (CCP)

Any designation for these above would be considered as an asset
