_We are seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, and proactive Senior Accountant to join our finance team. This role is ideal for a candidate with a strong foundation in full-cycle accounting and payroll, who also thrives on optimizing processes and implementing efficiencies._

Summary
Manage full-cycle accounting with accuracy and efficiency, ensuring timely month-end and year-end close processes.
Process and oversee all payroll functions, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and proper GL reconciliation.
Lead cash flow tracking, bank reconciliations, and credit card management to maintain strong financial controls.
Support the budgeting and forecasting process, providing insights and analysis to help business units make informed decisions.
Continuously identify and implement process improvements to drive financial accuracy, efficiency, and automation.
Collaborate with department leaders to enhance financial understanding and accountability across the organization.
Identify and apply for eligible government grants, wage subsidies, and capital funding opportunities to support company initiatives.
Prepare and present timely financial reports and dashboards to internal stakeholders, ensuring clarity and alignment.
Maintain compliance with internal policies and external financial regulations, including audit readiness.
Serve as a reliable backup to the Accounting Manager, supporting leadership and continuity in financial operations.

General Requirements

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA designation or working toward completion is strongly preferred)

Experience:
7+ years of progressive experience in full-cycle accounting, preferably in a medium-sized or multi-entity organization

Technical Skills:
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar ERP system)
Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis)
Experience with payroll software and processes (e.g., Payworks, ADP, Ceridian)

Knowledge Areas:
Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards
Familiarity with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
Knowledge of Canadian payroll laws and government funding programs (e.g., wage subsidies, tax credits)

Analytical Mindset:
Comfortable presenting financial information and training non-financial team members

This role has a salary range of $80,000-$95,000 plus a stake in the companies profit share which ranges from 1% to 8% of your total salary. The annual vacation allotment is 3 weeks.
