Western LNG is seeking a detail-oriented and strategic regulatory professional to serve as Manager, PRGT Regulatory Affairs. This position will be responsible for supporting the overall regulatory strategy and execution for the PRGT project, ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory frameworks, permits, and conditions. The role requires a strong understanding of regulatory processes in British Columbia and Canada, excellent coordination skills, and the ability to manage complex multi-stakeholder interactions involving regulatory bodies, Indigenous Nations, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and implementation of regulatory strategies to enable the timely advancement of the PRGT project.
  • Manage the preparation, submission, and tracking of regulatory filings, compliance reports, amendments, and permit condition updates.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact with provincial and federal regulatory agencies on matters related to the project's authorizations and regulatory obligations.
  • Monitor compliance with applicable legislation, project approvals, and permit conditions; proactively identify risks and support mitigation planning.
  • Coordinate internally across disciplines (engineering, construction, legal, environment, Indigenous relations) to ensure regulatory requirements are integrated into project planning and execution.
  • Manage and mentor a team of professionals.
  • Support engagement with Indigenous Nations, ensuring regulatory commitments and consultation requirements are met.
  • Maintain a comprehensive regulatory tracker and ensure timely responses to regulatory correspondence, audits, and inspections.
  • Draft briefings, summaries, and regulatory documentation for internal leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Support the Sr. Director in maintaining a strong regulatory standing, including issue identification and resolution with regulators.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Law, Public Policy, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in regulatory affairs, permitting, or compliance, preferably with large-scale energy or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of provincial and federal regulatory regimes relevant to pipeline development in British Columbia (e.g., BC Environmental Assessment Act, Energy Resources Activities Act, Water Sustainability Act, Canadian Navigable Waters Act).
  • Proven experience managing regulatory interfaces and submissions.
  • Experience engaging with Indigenous Nations in a regulatory or permitting context.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a complex, fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with LNG and pipeline projects is considered an asset.
