Job Title: Kafka Platform Developer & Client Support Engineer

Role Overview
We are seeking a Kafka Platform Developer & Client Support Engineer to join a collaborative engineering team supporting a real-time data streaming platform within a large enterprise environment. This role combines software development, DevOps, and client-facing support with a focus on onboarding and troubleshooting services built on Apache Kafka.
Key Responsibilities
- Support client onboarding to an enterprise-wide Kafka streaming platform, from intake to production release.
- Review Kafka configurations and Java/Spring-based applications for best practices and performance optimization.
- Provide technical guidance to internal and external development teams integrating with the Kafka ecosystem.
- Troubleshoot production incidents and assist with issue resolution in collaboration with platform and DevOps teams.
- Contribute to Kafka-related standards, documentation, and client-facing troubleshooting guides.
- Participate in platform maintenance and enhancements across private and public (Azure) cloud environments.
Must-Have Qualifications
- 2-3 years of relevant experience in software development or platform support roles.
- Strong understanding of Apache Kafka architecture and operational concepts.
- Hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot development.
- Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs (JSON/YAML).
- Working knowledge of Linux environments and Bash scripting.
- Familiarity with DevOps tools and workflows (Git, Maven, GitHub, CI/CD pipelines).
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with technical stakeholders.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Experience with Confluent Kafka (SaaS or self-managed).
- Knowledge of security/authentication protocols such as SAML, SASL/OAuth.
- Exposure to cloud environments, particularly Azure.
- Prior experience in client-facing or support engineering roles.
