Company Overview:

AIM Robotics is a rapidly growing drone technology company focused on delivering intelligent, regulatory-compliant, and scalable solutions for enterprise drone operations in Canada. Our flagship platform, RPAS WILCO, is trusted by airports, first responders, and utility operators for mission planning, compliance, and advanced airspace awareness.

As a deeply technical organization operating at the intersection of UAV systems, real-time data, aviation regulations, and AI, we are building tools that redefine operational standards in Canadian airspace. You'll be joining a fast-moving startup with national partnerships and enterprise clients - and a rare opportunity to work side-by-side with a hands-on CTO building deep tech.

About the Role:

We're looking for a technical generalist with strong organizational instincts and problem-solving skills to support the CTO across engineering, product operations, and internal tooling. This is a high-exposure, high-impact role - perfect for someone early in their career who wants to learn by doing and build across a range of domains.

You'll wear many hats and work directly with leadership to help keep the technology engine running - whether that means coordinating field tests, managing dev tasks, debugging hardware setups, or helping triage a production issue.

What You'll Do:

  • Support the CTO in coordinating engineering and product development tasks, including backlog grooming, bug triage, and documentation.
  • Assist with hardware/software integration testing for UAV systems and flight support tools.
  • Help set up and maintain internal tools and development environments (e.g., GitHub, test apps, servers, CI/CD workflows).
  • Support system diagnostics, logging, and field reports for drone platforms and cloud services.
  • Coordinate firmware updates, bench testing, and device management across our fleet.
  • Participate in product design, release prep, and internal field trials for new features.
  • Conduct light scripting or config tasks (e.g., JSON, YAML, or Bash/Python if comfortable).
  • Help track priorities and technical dependencies across Jira, GitHub, or Notion.
  • Capture operational insights and contribute to internal docs, workflows, or troubleshooting guides.
  • Handle ad-hoc tasks that may span from log analysis to installing test firmware to helping prepare for a customer pilot.

What We're Looking For:

  • A technical generalist or aspiring technical PM/engineer with a passion for software, systems, and product delivery.
  • Recent grad or early-career candidate from Computer Science, Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with basic dev tools (e.g., Git, VS Code, CLI) and collaboration platforms (e.g., Notion, Jira, GitHub).
  • Solid understanding of how modern web apps or cloud systems work.
  • Bonus if you've touched drones or robotics, embedded systems.
  • Fast learner, able to pivot between high-level coordination and hands-on tasks.
  • Strong communicator, detail-oriented, comfortable navigating ambiguity in a startup.
  • A team player with a builder's mindset and a willingness to say: "I'll figure it out."

Why This Role Is Unique:

  • Mentorship and exposure: You'll work directly under the CTO of a fast-scaling SaaS company.
  • Full-stack learning: From hardware to cloud APIs, and from real-world testing to internal ops - you'll see it all.
  • Startup intensity: We move fast, ship often, and solve real customer problems with urgency and creativity.
  • Future growth: This role can evolve into engineering, product, QA/devops, or program leadership - depending on your strengths.
