Job Title: Big Data Cloud Developer

Location: Montréal, QC (Hybrid)

Overview:

We are seeking a Big Data Cloud Developer to support our global Data Lake platform on Microsoft Azure. As the primary contact for AMER region projects, you will collaborate with business and data teams to drive adoption, design solutions, and ensure secure, scalable, and stable operations in a regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and evolve Azure-based Big Data platform components (Spark, Kafka, Synapse, HDInsight, Fabric, AKS).
• Support onboarding of data projects and guide teams on best practices.
• Automate infrastructure and monitoring to maintain a self-service platform.
• Evaluate and integrate new Azure services, ensuring security compliance.
• Deliver technical training and act as SME for platform usage in the AMER region.
• Participate in incident support and communicate with AMER users as needed.

Technical Environment:

Java Azure Apache Spark AKS (Kubernetes) Kafka Fabric HDInsight Synapse Azure Storage Delta/Iceberg Oracle/PostgreSQL

Required Skills:

• 5+ years in Java development with experience in multi-threaded systems and APIs.
• Strong expertise in Big Data technologies: Spark, Kafka, AKS, open table formats (Delta/Iceberg).
• Proficient with Azure services: Storage, Synapse, AI Search.
• Solid SQL experience (Oracle/PostgreSQL).
• Fluent in English and French (spoken and written).

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Terraform, PowerShell, Bash.
• CI/CD and DevOps tools (Git, GitHub, Jenkins, Docker, Jira).
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent technical certifications.

Languages: French and English are required.

Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, is a requirement as the person in this position will need to collaborate regularly with colleagues and partners in the United States.
