Job Title: Application Support Analyst

About the Job:

The Global Business Service Unit (GBSU) in Canada provides essential day-to-day services to investment and corporate banking units, helping them accelerate their transformation. The unit focuses on delivering fast-paced agile solutions, fostering a technology and data-driven culture, and improving decision-making processes. The team works in close collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to drive business improvements.

Within GBSU, the team supports regulatory reporting and trading applications, managing their development, operation, and support, all while adhering to agile and DevOps methodologies. The team collaborates extensively with various stakeholders and teams to efficiently deliver results.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

Your role will include, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • Provide support to users of regulatory reporting and trading applications.
  • Monitor processes and infrastructure to ensure efficient operations.
  • Manage the resolution, tracking, and documentation of incidents and requests.
  • Communicate effectively with users and other teams.
  • Participate in Change Management and Release Management (CMRM) processes.
  • Contribute to development projects within an agile team framework.
  • Perform quality, non-regression, and post-deployment testing.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of applications, infrastructure, processes, and documentation.
  • Conduct data analysis for user support and process improvements.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Technical Skills:

  • Must Have:
  • SQL (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL).
  • Linux, Windows, Azure, Hadoop.
  • Experience with support/ticketing tools.
  • Scripting languages (Bash, Python, PowerShell).
  • Autosys or other scheduling tools.
  • Development and deployment toolchains (GIT, Jenkins, XL-Deploy).

Experience & Competencies:

  • Must Have:
  • Proven experience in a similar role within a complex information systems environment.
  • Strong ability to structure, document, and share knowledge.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and job scheduling concepts.
  • Strong skills in incident resolution and request handling.
  • Nice to Have:
  • Experience in a financial services environment.
  • Familiarity with the ITIL framework.
  • Basic knowledge of financial markets and capital markets.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

Languages:

  • Proficiency in English and French is required, both spoken and written, as this position requires regular collaboration with colleagues and partners in the United States.

Additional Information:
