JOB DESCRIPTION
Insight Global is seeking a strategic and results-oriented leader to build and direct a business development and marketing function with a strong focus on expanding testing and engineering services in a prominent electrical utility base in Surrey BC. This role is pivotal in driving growth by identifying and securing new business opportunities, cultivating relationships with OEMs, power equipment suppliers, and utilities, and expanding presence across North America and targeted international markets.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the expansion of testing and engineering services with a focus on OEMs, utilities, and hydrogen infrastructure providers.
• Identify, develop, and close business opportunities by driving sales strategies and account growth plans. • Develop and execute marketing strategies including brand positioning, campaign development, digital content, stakeholder engagement, and competitive analysis.
• Collaborate across leadership and technical teams to align service capabilities with customer needs.
• Lead customer engagement initiatives, sales forecasting, and performance reporting while providing strategic insights.
• Demonstrate strong commercial negotiation skills and effectively communicate the value of solutions to stakeholders at all levels.
• Represent the organization at client sites, conferences, and industry events to promote services, generate leads, and build market presence. (Travel expected 1 week/month.)
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- 10+ years of busines development and marketing experience within related industries (oil and gas, mechanical/electrical companies, utility, energy, etc.)
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Science, or related field.
- Expertise in identifying profitable business opportunities and building client relationships in North America and internationally.
- Senior-level leadership and management experience within large complex environments
- Market Analysis & Negotiation Expertise:
o Strategic and entrepreneurial thinker with strong business acumen, adept at crafting and executing long-term growth strategies. Proven ability to analyze market trends, customer behavior, and competitive landscapes.
o Skilled in managing proposals, negotiating high-value deals, and driving successful business outcomes.
- Ability to travel during peak season (50%) and low season (2-3 days per month) and holds valid passport.
- CRM Expertise:
o Proficient in leveraging CRM systems to drive business development initiatives, streamline client engagement, and enhance sales pipeline management through effective implementation and utilization strategies.
