Our team of Quantity Surveyors will provide clients with proactive advice and critical analysis essential to constructing the best possible facility within the available budget. Our Cost Consulting Team will specialize in comprehensive pre-construction cost estimating services, offering detailed cost analysis from concept to completion to help clients understand their project's budget and financing requirements.

We are looking for a Junior Quantity Surveyor to join our Team.

Job Description

  • Prepare estimates at key project stages (concept, schematic, design development and construction documents)
  • Creating cost breakdown documents (Elemental) and detailed quantities from analysis of technical scope, design documents and specifications
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of a cost estimating database
  • Prepare basis of estimate documentation for inclusion is cost estimate reports
  • Reporting to the Senior Cost Consultant and interacting with Project Managers, Design Consultants, Owners, Suppliers and Trade Contractors

Education and Experience

  • Graduate from an Architectural, Building & Engineering Technology or Construction Management or Estimating program
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Estimator or relevant experience in the construction industry
  • Professional Quantity Surveyor (PQS) or Certified Construction Estimator (CEC) designation. If either of these designations is not part of your resume, a strong commitment to, or significant progress in attaining these designations will be considered.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English required to effectively collaborate with Team members
  • Ability to read, interpret, and prepare reports, estimates and other technical documents
  • Self-motivated and to work as an integrated member of a Team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Onscreen Takeoff (or equivalent software)
  • Familiarity with the Method of Measurement of Construction Work and Elemental Cost Analysis (Method of Measurement and Pricing)
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and regulations
