POSITION PROFILE

The Manager, Outreach and Recruitment is responsible for prospective undergraduate student outreach and recruitment, management of recruitment staff including co-op students and volunteers, and working with senior leadership on enrolment management strategy. They play a critical role in the implementation of St. Jerome's specific scholarships and awards. The Manager, Outreach and Recruitment is a key representative of St. Jerome's University, developing and maintaining networks throughout St. Jerome's, and in particular with the University of Waterloo's Marketing and Undergraduate Recruitment team, Student Awards and Financial Aid team, the Faculty of Arts, and the wider community with a particular focus on teachers, guidance counsellors, and leaders at local school boards.

How will you contribute as the Manager, Outreach and Recruitment?

Develop and foster relationships with stakeholders at SJU, UW, AFIW, and the wider external community partners including prospective students and parents, guidance staff within the secondary school system, and recruitment staff from other universities

Collaborate and partner with the University of Waterloo, in particular the Marketing and Undergraduate Recruitment team, and other AFIW partners in initiatives that support the overall recruitment strategies of the university

Plan and execute on-site outreach, recruitment, and admissions events, in collaboration with various campus partners including academic departments, campus ministry, development, and student affairs

Develop, implement, manage, evaluate, and enhance the recruitment plan and supports SJU enrolment targets for co-registered and residential students

Develop, manage, and oversee a plan for travel to strategically selected high schools

Inform and coordinate the applicant communication plan and offer acceptance strategy

Research, analyze, and apply current and historical enrolment data in combination with demographics of SJU target audience to determine trends, future opportunities, and inform strategy

Collaborate with the Vice President Academic and Dean on strategic enrollment planning and act as representative on admissions matters

Advance the strategy and lead the implementation of St. Jerome's entrance scholarships and awards

Responsible for the recruitment, management, and evaluation of recruitment staff and campus tour guides

Maintain effective administrative support systems and student records

Manage the outreach and recruitment budgets

As a successful Manager, Outreach and Recruitment you possess:

Undergraduate degree required; liberal arts discipline preferred

3+ years of student recruitment experience required showing progression of responsibility

Supervisory experience an asset

Experience working in a university environment and understanding of student demographics including awareness of and sensitivity to cultural, language, religious, political, socio-economic, and other relevant factors in recruitment markets

Excellent organizational skills

Excellent communication, interpersonal, customer service, and presentation skills

Demonstrated budget management skills

Demonstrates maturity, confidence, and competence sufficient to provide effective, credible representation of St. Jerome's University at high school and educational events and on interuniversity committees

Ability to exercise diplomacy, tact, and confidentiality

Must have a valid G driver's license and a clean driving abstract

Must be able to obtain a Vulnerable Sector background check
