Job Title: Solution Architect (Contract)

Location: Hybrid - Toronto, ON (2 days/week onsite at 44 King St W)

Duration: 6 months, with potential for extension

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm (37.5 hrs/week)

Overview:

Our client is seeking a hands-on Solution Architect / Principal Engineer to support a large-scale cloud migration initiative. This role focuses on transitioning API services from Apigee Edge to Apigee X and includes designing scalable solutions, managing CI/CD pipelines, and leading cloud-native platform integrations.

Responsibilities:

• Lead infrastructure readiness and workload migration to Apigee X
• Design and deploy scalable API platform components
• Establish CI/CD pipelines and automate API deployment workflows
• Ensure security, access controls, and network-level protections
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and external vendors

Required Skills:

• 10+ years in IT with 5+ years as a Solution Architect or Principal Engineer
• Experience with API development, stack migration, and back-end services
• Strong knowledge of IAM/OAuth/SAML, SSL/TLS, and error handling
• CI/CD expertise using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and Infrastructure-as-Code
• Solid cloud architecture experience (GCP preferred)

Nice to Have:

• ApigeeX or middleware integration experience
• GCP certification or prior GCP project experience
• API-related certifications

Soft Skills:

• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement
• Strategic thinking and decision-making
• Team-oriented with presentation capabilities
