Growth Equity Investor - Toronto

Our client is a highly successful and well-known venture capital firm that invests growth equity in high growth enterprise software companies. Based in Toronto, the Company has a unique value-add platform approach. The team is a mix of investors, entrepreneurs, and operators who work closely with our portfolio companies to help them scale. They also have a team of 20+ engineers and data scientists who work with portfolio companies to accelerate their AI roadmaps post investment.

The Role:

The Growth Equity Investor role is a unique opportunity to build your career. In this role, you'll work closely with a tight-knit group of peers across the Investment, R&D,Marketing, and Customer teams on various pre and post investment initiatives, including diligence, sourcing and portfolio value creation. This role is based in Toronto (with hybrid / flexible work from home). Candidates must be located in the GTA or willing/able to relocate.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Identifying and Evaluating Investments: Source and assess new investment opportunities.
  • Building Relationships: Develop strong connections with executives at our portfolio and pipeline companies, as well as with investors from peer funds.
  • Conducting Market Research: Gain a deep understanding of technology trends, vertical markets and thesis areas, and perform comprehensive research on specific companies and industries.
  • Conducting Due Diligence: Handle all aspects of investment due diligence including business, market, management, competitive analysis, financial/returns modeling, cap table analysis and legal diligence.
  • Optimizing our Team: Drive the efficiency and effectiveness of internal operational processes such as sourcing and due diligence.

Ideal Candidates:

You likely have 2-4 years of experience in management consulting, investment banking/finance, big tech, or in start-up/scale-up tech environments.
