Our longtime client, a respected and established organization in the industrial sector, is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to lead its occupational health and safety programs. This role is responsible for driving strategy and ensuring compliance with provincial legislation while fostering a strong safety-first culture across diverse operational sites. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker and hands-on leader with deep knowledge of safety management systems and multi-site industrial environments.
What you should expect:
- Lead the development and execution of safety programs aligned with company goals and regulatory compliance.
- Guide risk management initiatives and oversee incident investigations with a view to prevention and process improvement.
- Maintain and elevate standards for internal audits, inspections, and training across all sites.
- Ensure certifications such as COR are obtained and upheld.
- Partner with senior leadership to embed safety considerations into operational planning.
- Act as the company's primary representative to regulatory bodies and clients regarding HSE matters.
- Mentor and oversee safety personnel, ensuring effective team performance and alignment.
What you should bring:
- 10+ years' experience in a senior Health & Safety role, ideally within construction, industrial, or manufacturing sectors.
- Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field.
- In-depth knowledge of OHSA, WHMIS, and COR auditing standards.
- Proven success leading in unionized, multi-site, and safety-conscious environments.
- Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making capabilities.
- Proficiency with digital safety platforms and relevant software (e.g., Site Docs).
