Location: Markham - Hybrid (3 days in office)

Duration: 6 months (extendable)

Role Overview

The Business System Analyst is a key member of the project team, contributing to planning and execution from ideation through to completion. This role focuses on driving results by identifying optimization opportunities, removing roadblocks, and delivering outcomes that exceed stakeholder expectations. The team embraces a culture of challenging the status quo and simplifying processes, technology, and workflows.

What You'll Do

  • Collaborate on planning, prioritization, and design.
  • Understand the business problem the project is solving and ensure the team remains aligned with it.
  • Define and manage project scope with the team.
  • Work on business requirements related to IT/Digital Development.
  • Document business requirements and translate them into technical requirements.
  • Create, monitor, and review sprint plans for optimization opportunities.
  • Organize and lead working sessions and project update meetings across organizational levels.
  • Collaborate closely with business and technical team members to support deliverables.
  • Identify project issues/roadblocks and propose mitigation/resolution steps.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations for project and process improvements.

What You'll Bring

  • 5+ years BSA experience on Scrum teams.
  • Guidewire Policy Center Ace Certification (mandatory).
  • Scrum Master experience.
  • Experience with Digital Implementations (asset).
  • Experience with Conversion Projects (asset).
  • 3+ years in personal insurance.
  • CIP preferred or strong insurance knowledge.
  • Customer/business-focused with strong stakeholder management.
  • Results-oriented with a consistent focus on business outcomes.
  • Exceptional critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent planning and organizational abilities.
  • Superior communication skills (formal and informal).
