Job Title: Data Engineer - Transportation & Shipping Data (Snowflake Focus)

Location: Alten Office-North York or Remote

Type: 6 Months Contract

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated Data Engineer with strong experience in Snowflake, SQL, and DBT, particularly in the context of transportation and shipping data (e.g., FedEx, UPS). The ideal candidate will be responsible for engaging with internal stakeholders to gather, clean, manage, and harmonize data from Snowflake, ensuring it is accurate and actionable for business insights.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and collect relevant data from Snowflake.
• Clean, manage, and harmonize transportation/shipping data to support business operations.
• Proactively seek out data sources and clarify data requirements with stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain data models and pipelines using DBT.
• Ensure data quality and consistency across systems and reports.

Must-Have Qualifications:

• 4-5 years of experience with Snowflake, especially in handling transportation/shipping data (e.g., FedEx, UPS logistics). Must Have
• Strong proficiency in SQL for data extraction and transformation.
• Hands-on experience with DBT for data modeling and transformation. Must Have

Nice-to-Have Skills (Ranked by Priority):

• Adjusting Priorities - Ability to manage multiple tasks and shift focus as needed.
• Strong Communication - Comfortable engaging with stakeholders to gather requirements and explain data insights.
• SAP ECC - Familiarity with enterprise resource planning systems.
• Blue Yonder - Experience with supply chain planning tools.
