Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Linux Administrator to manage and maintain our Linux-based infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have 8 to 10+ years of experience in Linux system administration, application support, security patching, and vendor coordination. This role requires strong troubleshooting skills, proactive system monitoring, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Administration: Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers and workstations.
  • Application Support: Provide technical support for Linux-based applications, ensuring optimal performance and uptime.
  • Security & Patching: Identify and fix vulnerabilities by applying security patches and updates regularly.
  • Vendor Coordination: Work with third-party vendors to resolve issues, procure software/hardware, and ensure compliance with SLAs.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize resource utilization.
  • Backup & Recovery: Implement and maintain backup solutions to ensure data integrity and disaster recovery readiness.
  • Automation & Scripting: Develop and maintain automation scripts using Bash, Python, or Ansible to streamline administrative tasks.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting steps.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience: 8-10+ years in Linux system administration.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of Red Hat, Ubuntu, CentOS, or other Linux distributions.
  • Security & Compliance: Familiarity with firewall configurations, SELinux, and security hardening.
  • Scripting & Automation: Proficiency in Bash, Python, or Ansible.
  • Networking: Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN configurations.
  • Cloud & Virtualization: Experience with AWS, Azure, VMware, or Docker is a plus.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Communication: Ability to coordinate with vendors and collaborate with internal teams.
